Boo - A Light In The Darkness, A fangame I'm going to make

I'm going to turn my stories into a game. Now, before I start, I need to get a good, free, and easy-to-use, RPG maker. The game follows the plot of the stories. And now, here's a brief introduction.

The ruthless Vetara Kingdom has seized control of the Free Kingdoms (Mushroom, Koopa, Bean Bean, Lemon, Itha, and Sh'Kitra.) Now in complete control, the Vetarians have influcened two leaders to take their side. Bowser of the Koopa Kingdom, and Lotarius of the Lemon Kingdom. Gruntilda has been appointed leader of the Itha Kingdom, who's king has bbeen murdered. These Kingdoms have cut off trade from the other Free Kingdoms, which has lead to unsuccessful revolts. The Vetarians have brainwashed all other primitive species to help fight for them. However, they have yet to brainwash the Boos. The Boos are having problems of their own. The sacred Boo Texts have been lost, which has lead to many Boo divisions arising. The dangerous Boo sub-species have also arisen. Boo's mansion has been destroyed in an attack, but Boo managed to survive. He was then attacked and was found by Professor E Gadd. They then met up with Mervilon who gave them their mission: "Find all the Boo Texts scattered throoughout the Kingdoms, and unify the Boos. Then, with the Boos united, iniate a large scale attack against the Vetarians." The fate of the Kingdoms is in your hands.

Now to introduce the characters.



Boo is the main character in the game. After the destruction of his home, Boo is sent on a quest that will put all of his physical and mental indurance to the test.



Shortly after the attack on Boo's home, he is rescued by Professor E Gadd. E. Gadd has an interest in the supernatural and wants to start his own research company, which the Vetarians will not allow. E Gadd is one of Boo's most useful partners.



Blue Goomba is an old friend of Boo's who managed to escape the attacks of the Vetarians. His brother was not as lucky. He wants to avenge his brother and wants to help save the world.



Popple is a world-renouned thief. He often confronts Boo in the game in order to try and steal his "loot."



Bowser, along with Lotarius and Gruntilda, is one of the three World Dominators appointed by the leader of the Vetara Kingdom. He rules the Koopa Kingdom with an iron fist. He's also planning on taking over the Mushroom Kingdom.



Another of the three World Dominators. She was recently appointed to lead the Itha Kingdom, in which she is now the tyrranical ruler.



Lotarius is the last of the three World Dominators. He's the brains of the group. He actually is a traitor to the Free Kingdoms as he is now the dictator of the Lemon Kingdom. Little is known about him as he tends to keep to himself. (Thanks to Fawfulhasfury from nintendomain.net for the picture)

Other characters:

Muskloki - The vile leader of the Vetarians.

Mek - Muskloki's assistant.

Mushroo - The King of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Queen Bean - The leader of the Bean Bean Kingdom.

Uth - The old leader of the Itha Kingdom who was murdered for taking action against the Vetarians. He was soon replaced by Grunty.

Sh'Ret - The leader of the Sh'Kirta Kingdom.

Mario - The hero of the Mushroom Kingdom who's bound to show up somewhere.

Kammy Koopa - Bowser's assistant, who has betrayed Bowser. She is the leader of the MagiKoopa Order.

Prince Peasley - The prince and hero of the Bean Bean Kingdom.

Boo's partners - Boo will have a wide selection of partners that will help him in his quest. You can create a character too.

Those are the only characters that Ill show now. I'd like feedback on this.

Friends:

Bamma and Beta - Everyone's favourite Hammer Brothers. These two will often meet Boo as they are on an adventure on their own. They will usually give Boo a useful item.

Luigi - Luigi will appear quite often in the game. He's the one who explains your partner's abilities as well as power-ups.

Boothia - The god of the Boos who will aid Boo in his quest. Boo connects to him through the various Siren Stations scattered throughout the lands.

Enemies:

Cackletta - The newest of the World Dominators. She's an evil witch who recently took control of the Sh'Kitra Kingdom. Cackletta holds power that not even Muskloki can match.

Fawful - Cackletta's assistant. He doesn't do much in the game except add humor and is a boss with Cackletta.

Reft - A dragon that inhabits a castle. He terrorizes the nearby village.

Partners:

Sir Grodus - He's back again for another try for world domination. He actually opposes the Vetarian movement and sides with Boo. His X-Nauts were taken over by the Vetarians and are now their main force.

Booster - Since his tower was destroyed, Booster is now reclusive. His Snifts are still with him. Once Boo discovers him and tells him of his mission, Boster sides with Boo.

Mar'ke - A MagiKoopa who is part of the Order. The Order remains in secret and is persecuted by the Vetarians. He joins to help Boo in his quest.

Frankio - A member of the long lost Pianta mafia and the estranged son of Don Pianta. He's been practicing karate to help deal with depression. He joins Boo to prove he is not a coward and to become a better fighter.

I have more partners planned, and you can post any new partner you would like to see added.

Screens would be nice.

Well if he is planning to release in 2006, it is doubtful the engine is anywhere near done yet.
Anyways cool concept! Will it be a platformer or other? It will be interesting to see boo's capabilities and attacks.
A couple of good suggestions:
Allow Boo to eat some enemies to grow in size. Once a certain size is reached, Boo becomes invincible for a certain period at which point he returns to normal size.
Boo can create fake ghost versions of himself to confuse enemies, Alternately, Boo can spawn other ghosts to create a protective ring of ghosts around himself for a short period.
Give Boo a special powerup which, when collected allows Boo to say, travel through walls or something.
Once again, this idea has HEAPS of potential and I really hope you finish

I'm not planning on selling it. I e-mailed them back. I may still do it.

One of the things about rules is, well... there's a reason rules are meant to be broken. Technically, people could do whatever they wanted. So they create rules, in order for people to feel free and cool by breaking them only so much.

In all reality, the speed limit is 65 MPH - but we set it at 50 so people will go 65 and feel bad and daring. Nintendo says we can't use their stuff for anything without acceptance knowing we will but won't sell it, because just using it is the extent of our breaking of that rule.

If you e-mail them, it's like going up to a cop and asking if you can drive 65 in a 50 MPH zone. Of course he'll say no. That's why we do it, get caught, and do it again. Because we'll never do anything worse. And the people who do die or go to jail.

Just make the game. No one cares if you do. And the worst Nintendo could do is make you take it off the internet.
