"im having trouble with it importing into MMF.. nd would like to see how it's supposed to look like.."

Instead of using the animation that he has, MMF can do much more wonders (not saying that the transformation on the sheet is crap, it just looks like TGF stuff, MMF can do better).

Create two objects: the original and the thing to transform into.
Have one do a fade out, whatever you choose.
Have the other do a fade in, whatever you choose.

At whatever given time, destroy the original object and create the transformed object at the same place at the same time.

There you go.

EDIT: Also, yeah, the storyline sucks, unless you're looking towards a comedy game, in which you've got to have good humour, which means no cheesy lines and most importantly, GRAMMAR.

Aw, awesome. I've always wanted to see a Yoshi game using Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga graphics, in fact I had considered doing one myself in the future. Now I got one to look forward to.

I really wouldn't reccomend MMF's platform engine for anything though, later you may find that there are things you just can't do with it or bugs could pop up which can really mess things up... Then again I'd prefer to play a game with an MMF platform engine than one with a badly done static engine, providing it's been modified or the levels are laid out well enough that it doesn't bug up. Especially with shooting directions and things like that.

Anyway I checked out your engine and it's not bad. You might want to lower the gravity slightly(and lower the jump strength to go with it so that it evens out), and maybe slow down the movement speed ever so slightly.

Also there is that horrible problem you get with MMF sometimes here where the scrolling bounces up and down when you walk. If your Yoshi sprite is the platform object then there's nothing you can do to fix it with hotspots(unless you drew a hard-to-notice pixel underneath him to keep him off the ground) but you can have a separate object as your platform object and yoshi always set to it's position, and to program when to play the jumping anims etc yourself.

I think the tongue should be longer too, heh.

By the way, where did you get those Yoshi's Island sounds from?

I ripped the sounds myself from a Yoshi's Island ROM.

If you want, maybe one day i could rip some more sounds, zip it and send it to you.

I also have some future updates for the engine.

1) I will try to make Yoshi's tongue longer, as many people have requested. Although that is the original tongue length that was in the ML:SS game.

2) I already added a better and nice effect when Yoshi Pound-the-Grounds.

3) I will also fix the scrolling, using the idea of DistantJ, so when Yoshi walks, the screen doesnt go up and down.

I think that might be all for the engine of the game. For anybody who wants to use the engine for your own games, just ask.

Besides the engine, I will post the storyline, maybe at 7PM tonight. It's just a few changes, but an improvement from the old storyline.

Currently, I am working on the opening cutscene of the game.

One thing, could you enable the stretch screen to fill window size option? I like to play my games full screen and nobody seems to bother adding that option anymore, and I can't see how anyone can really enjoy a game in a little mini window. I dunno what you're using but MMF can also even out the pixels to they look the right size still and apply a bilinear filter to make it nice and non-blocky in full screen mode too(it's in the runtime options).

Yes. I have been thinking that for awhile, that the game should have the option of playing full screen. And I will add that feature, by pressing Alt+Enter. It might be weird to see the sprites and backgrounds up close, but if you want it, you got it. wink.gif

You don't need to do that. All you need to do is to enable the "Resize application to fit window size" option, then when the player clicks the maximise button, presto, full screen. Looks a LOT nicer if you go into the application runtime options and check "Use DirectX" and "Use VRAM"
