M&L's easiest part of shading is to take all the corners of your sprite's outline (if there aren't any, make a few) and make them R82 G81 B82 instead of black.

I'll look at some MLSS sprites sometime and see if I can figure out a system for making them that style.

I can do Oekaki BBS, OpenCanvas, and photoshop coloring techniques if it's in high demand around here. A sample of my stuff can be found in my DeviantArt page, and i have this how to draw peasley thing here, here, and here; though it's not very useful at all since it's basically for drawing the kook in a style other than the official promo stuff.

Written tutorial and a image. soveryhappy.gif

QUOTE (Paper Mario Style Tutorial by Me(Rage))
As for the Paper Mario-ish style coloring,[Make the base colors on a lower layer of your lineart with the pencil or brush tool. I'd recommend the pencil tool] I used the magic wand to select the desired area, grab the Polygonal Lasso Tool set to remove selected areas, get rid of part of the edge(the side depends on your light source or whatever), Use the Burn Tool (set to Midtones) and burn near where I removed with the Lasso Tool. When burning whites, I have the burn tool set to shadows. Rinse and repeat. (I did this in Photshop 7 BTW, but it might be possible with other programs if they have the right tools.)

True story.
