What about Gloomtail? I HATED fighting him, along with that skeleton at the end of pit of 100 trials, and all you'd get for the hard effort is a badge! >_<

STOP BUMPING THIS TOPIC.

Jesus christ.

And Bone/Gloomtails are 3D models, not sprites. You can't rip 3D models.

Technically they're all 3D models. I think Gloomtail's textures are in the zip file towards the end of this topic. Of course, it doesn't do much to resemble gloomtail.

What are the 3D models?
If the format has been cracked, couldn't they be converted to, say, 3DS?

Calm the hell down. It's ok to bump topics when it's contributing to it.

heh heh .. heh

I have in fact decoded most of the model format. But unless you have some really good documentation on the 3DS format, there's not going to be an exporter.

If there ever is an export option in my program, it will probably be to a less proprietary format than Autodesk's 3DS. But even if that option existed, if you wanted to view / export / manipulate the models, you'd need to have the original data files from the GCM.

NSC?

DS's tilemap format. My viewer works only with a few (NSMB backgrounds - foregrounds don't work - haven't tested it with anything non-NSC) and needs you to split the tiles into BMP files (no reading for palettes and actually getting it from the ROM's data files - haven't worked out how to do that in MMF2).

Developing a ROM manipulating utility with Multimedia Fusion isn't the best choice.

And as for RII's PM viewer, looks beautiful. I had no idea you're an application coder.
Hooktail's eye is a bit cut off for some reason, but otherwise it's pretty much flawless.
Have you contributed any of your notes (if you have any :D) to some Rom-hacking repository for someone else to take advantage from? With the SM64 and MK64 editors coming up someday in the future, a PM tool would make sense.
(Note that this is just a question with no intentions on asking you to do so. I don't even know if you have a PM1 model viewer or any notes regarding any game.)

I know. ohmy.gif
Basically, my viewer just extracts the tile numbers and flipping information using the Binary object, and then loads the tiles in from a pile of BMPs (tiles are ripped using Tile Molester, then split using Xgoff's splitter). I'm hoping to see if I can make a better viewer. But by then, Tahaxan will probably support NSMB's 8-bit multipalette graphics...

I have, in fact, contributed my documentation, although I think I'm the only one that actually uses any of it.

As for hooktail's eye - several models have little discrepancies like that, which appears to be corrected in animation data. Unfortunately I'd made many attempts to decode that data and have not been able to.

Yeah I'm tired of people telling me that. No more toodles link! It's probably located somewhere in the zip file, unless it's a different mislabeled sheet.
