Unregistered	Presto - Don't bother, the only thing you can do in this is remix music, if you want to MAKE music, you need expert timing. Anvil Studio - It's a good program, but you might need to have experience in reading music. It's also a bit complicated and can be buggy sometimes. Modplug Tracker - Can also be very complicated to learn, but is probably easy to learn. Dunno if it can save midi's as actual midi's though.

Yes it can, actual *.mid files- it asks you which sound card instrument to use to replace the ones you have, and occasionally doubles the speed of the song. I don't know why it does, but it should be easily repairable by doubling the note delay (called Speed) and then saving.
