For me.. the Dreamcast controller was the best. Not that much of a buttons and well... it felt good in my hands. The Gamecube controller also has a very comfortable feeling in the hands. Too bad I don't like the buttons and the sticks are very annoying. Fingers keep slipping off The xbox controller (both vanilla and S) are not 'chilling' in my hands but the sticks are very comfortable for my fingers. The PS2 controller is just a no no. Not build for my hands. In conclusion: Dreamcast buttons + Gamecube model + Xbox pads = t3h perfect controller in my opinion. Thanks for reading this crappy post.

GCN is most comfortable for most people; some make the mistake of comparing a PS2 controller to the SNES, but even though there are some similarities in the button layout, it's pretty clear that the SNES controller was better crafted, despite being significantly older. The shoulder buttons are not so tiny or awkwardly out of reach, etc.
The Xbox controller S is smaller than the GCN standard controller, the standard Xbox controller is too large for any hand and is honestly painful to hold.
Out of all the current generation analog sticks, GCN's are the easiest to make distinctly precise motions with.
Also, despite its apparent "lack of buttons"; there has yet to be a decent game in recent memory that would require more than 7 (action) buttons to play with.
You would be better served to keep your GCN because it has:
Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, Wario Ware Mega Party Games, Animal Crossing, Rogue Leader, Rebel Strike, Star Fox Assault, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, the best versions of Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, the coolest Soul Calibur II bonus character, Legend of Zelda Four Swords (the best multiplayer experience on any home console ever), F-Zero GX, Kirby Air Ride, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes... I mean dude you probably don't own even 25% of the titles I listed... do you own Metal Gear? It sounds like it'd be up your alley before you go peeing on Nintendo for using colorful, soft controllers and games that at least play better than their PS2 counterparts. I'd rather play Mario Party 6's mic mode than any lame rapper game on PS2, I think once you play Mecha Mayhem or whatever that mode is called; you'll understand.

I don't like PS2, I like Xbox. I know all those titles you listed maybe four of them IMO qualify as "good". Infact, I have most of them and they don't really suit me, really, our opinion is so different because my favourite games are realistic FPS army games. Also unless San Andreas is considered a rapper game, I don't play any.

| QUOTE (Nightwing @ Jul 16 2005, 07:28 PM) | Ok well I'll tell you this:
San Andreas is best on PC, as are most of your favorite Xbox games. You'll find much more satisfaction in FPSes with the following titles:
- Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (a free download at www.splashdamage.com) - Half Life 2 (the best physics in a shooter ever, it's truly amazing to play online or single player, course it's still like $55 damn dollars, $35 is the lowest I've seen) - Jedi Academy (yeah it's on Xbox, but what you want is this mod: www.moviebattles.com) - TimeSplitters 3: Future Perfect (this is probably the one definitive shooter pick for Xbox)
I mean; I guess I could assess you based on one thing, if you think Halo is somehow better than Perfect Dark or Goldeneye you must be insane. But hopefully you don't think bland repeating levels going through tower after tower and wide open buildings with the same six enemies with nothing to do but kill-kill-kill is a good game; or else it may be clear why you're so lost here, you're mainstream and think CounterStrike is the best FPS ever made, or that if a game isn't full of enough **** and blood (although not necessarily at the same time) that something is wrong with it.
So if THAT is true; you must be Tommy Tallarico; but again, I hope I'm dead wrong... friend |
I think SA is the worst on PC, I can't stand Enemy Territory. HL2, have that, love it, Jedi Academy, haven't touched, TimeSplitters 3, I was thinking of getting that since I played the Xbox demo but I beat TS2 on GCN and I still loved it. Yet for some reason I made a decision to not buy it.
I like Battefield 2 and Ghost Recon 2, find me some blood in those two army games. Also Call of Duty, has a TINY bit of blood, I like that too. Really just because I mention games that are gorey doesn't mean that is the only thing I touch. Just because I dislike a game that lacks strong violence doesn't mean I only like games with strong violence.
You really have to understand that my opinion and your opinion is not the same. Your opinion is what you like, not what I like, hence why it is your opinion. And that just because I like gorey games and not Mario doesn't mean I am a narrowminded FPS obsesser who won't even contemplate purchasing something that doesn't have blood.
