Also too bad that in battles, the enemy sprite can't be animated (unless you do all this complex ****). Again, unless the new one is different. Yes, that's just too bad...

Nah, according to my knowledge of RPGM2k3, it's not much different than RPGM2k spritewise (the biggest and most obvious change is the battle system). There's a tutorial around how to make a multi-frame walking animation, but I don't know where to download it if it's still available at all.
