the xbox

I'm thinking of getting 1, is it a waste of money? I've got almost all the nintendo systems though .

I'm still trying to get one myself actually. I want:

Conker:Live and Reloaded
Dead or Alive:Ultimate
Ninja Gaiden
Voodoo Vince
Psychonauts
Fable
Jade Empire
Halo 1

and some other games I can't think of.

It's a very good system. Had one for nearly 3 years, it's worth a purchase.

im not gettin one because im waiting for X-box 360.....

It's not backwards compatable though.

Smart move, assuming that it's backwards compatible.

Ok ok; look, despite RAMPANT rumors to the contrary, Microsoft has confirmed an infinite number of times that the Xbox 360 is going to be fully backwards compatible. Any Xbox game will work in your 360.

If you're going to buy an Xbox, you can really only hope to pick up:

- the best or prettiest versions of many 3rd party titles, such as Spider-Man 2 (huge difference on that one)
- you can play as Spawn in Soul Calibur II
- for $15 you can get the genius Shenmue II, one of the best linear RPGs ever made and yet never played. Seriously.
- Exclusive DDR games
- Better versions of GTAIII, Vice City, San Andreas and Metal Gear Solid 2
- Knights of the Old Republic I and II.

The problem with all this stuff is that, PC versions of many good Xbox games are available that are even better; but as a gaming machine it will only cater to a very specific taste. Many enjoy Halo but if you have any sort of discerning taste in FPS you'd best stray away, the single-player is a strenuous romp through repetitive levels, and not everyone is keen on paying to play online. Again, the first Halo is available for the PC, with exclusive mods no less.

I thought Microsoft just said it isn't.

Ohhhh, I guess that's it. My brother told me that it isn't going to be backwards compatible, and I guess I believed him since Xbox magazine even said they'd expect Microsoft to not make in backwards compatible. I have no idea why Xbox magazine thought that, in fact, they said they HOPED it wasn't backwards compatible.

You can't trust the official magazine? What the heck?

Well awhile back, they were saying for what they'd like, and someone asked what they thought about it being backwards compatible, and they said that they didn't think Microsoft would make the 360 backwards compatible, and they also hoped that they didn't.

Well, if they were more professional they'd ask their own company. Why hope it woudn't though?

All systems are good, in my opinion. But consider waiting for the 360.

I might try to get one myself someday. Mainly for games like Conker and Psychonauts though.

now I brought my eye to these systems, xbox 360, psp, and ps3 when it comes out. of these systems, witch 1 is worth buying?

Xbox 360 so far. PSP just sucks and the PS3's expensive as hell it seems like

I can never get that game on my local store because the immature workers will come up frikken and nag me about "So, who's the hottest character? GIGGITY GIGGITY GIGGITY" and other **** if I dare lay my eyes in the cover
