That's what I love about the Metroid series. There's nobody telling you where to go or what to do from the beginning of most of the games (except SAVE THE WORLD!!!!!), you're just..on your own.

Hmm... Metroid complaints....

Metroid Fusion was so freakin' annoying. You're expected to use every type of attack on every block of wall, ceiling and floor to find a path. Not exactly my idea of fun. In the other Metroid games, you really only had to do that to find hidden missles and such.

I found the NES Metroid almost unplayable. Exploration be damned, it's frustrating being given a large mass of land and having to spend so much time on fruitless paths.

I would've loved Metroid Prime to death it wasn't for the Artifact hunt. =/ Nonetheless, a great game.

I actually got the Artifacts along the way :O, except, I think the VERY first one you were supposed to get (lmfao)

Yeah so, about the fruitless paths thing, yeah I agree with you there, I love epxloration and all, but clues to where to go are a nice touch.

By the way, I've been recently playing through Zero Mission from beginning to end over and over and trying to find hidden stuff and such. Here's what I found:

1. It's possible to finish the game WITHOUT the Varia Suit, as long as you have 3 or more energy tanks when you have to go to Ridley*.

2. It's possible to finish the game WITHOUT the Screw Attack.

3. There's a trick to beating Ridley BEFORE you get to Kraid.

Oh, and no thamks to GameFaqs, I finished original Metroid.wink.gif

*Thing is, when you 'get your fully powered suit', it actually tells you that you DID get the Varia suit, even when you do the trick properly. Plus, I found a pair of cool things from the Minish Cap. But that's another story...

And about MP, can't beat Prime(part 2). Somebody help plz?

I don't like any of the old Metroid games. Too difficult. Of course, I can't even get myself to play farther into either Metroid Prime game. sad.gif

No, it's okay. My bad, I didn't actually know this topic was old. On my server it said 'New Replies', so I decided to check it out.

Super Metroid had some of the most fantastic boss battles ever. Namely, Kraid, Crocomire, and Spore-Spawn.

;_; I wish I could have had a chance to play Super Metroid. I never did. Nevertheless, Zero Mission and Fusion are some of the best Metroid titles yet...with an exception for ADAM1!!!1!!!!111111!!!1!!
