A letter to Nintendo Power

You will never be able to battle trainers again after you've beaten it all except for the elite four. You will have to walk slowly to each destination. You will have to deal with the very ugly graphics. All because of your strange hatred for anything that is not OLD SKOOL YO.

I don't recall the original games having resized sprites and a sleep mode.

The only real reason: Minus World, which I still can't figure out.

And while you're at it, what about Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid?

BTW: I emailed Nintendo Power a long time ago about how to get the Mystery Eggs and Ice Key in Banjo-Kazooie. They told me there was no possible way. A short time later,
I found the Sandcastle codes. Nextime I want straight answers, not bull****.

Oh please. The graphics haven't gotten that much better since the original.
I don't find the walking slow at all.
and *sigh* it's NOT a hatred. And it's NOT strange to like the old school more than the new school.

Well Duckboy, I just think as someone who instantly dropped out from buying the games after Gold, you would enjoy it. I think it's pretty old school. But with some new twists, which is nice.

And Mario Gamer, since you're talking about buying it preowned anyways, Game Rush always has Classic NES Mario for $4.99. So even if you don't have a Sears with the game you can most likely find it here, so it's a lot larger savings than just 5 dollars. Granted you may still think paying $10 more is worth it for the extra features, and I can't really argue with you there if the extra features really are that cool in your eyes.

(But the best part is Game Rush is doing buy 2 preowned get 1 free, so you could actually buy the GBA port AND Super Mario Bros. DX and get the original NES cart for free. Of course that's a dumb idea for many reasons, chief one being that all Genesis, NES, SNES, and Dreamcast games are $0.99 at Game Rush.)

So, wait am I the only one that LIKED all the features in DX?

Oh, definitely not. In fact I've been trying to find a good deal on a copy for a pretty long time. It still seems worth checking out especially since I could play it on my Gameboy Color if I was so inclined.

Uh, no offense, but why in the world would you do that?

I mean no backlight or anything.

Well, for the Pokémon Trading Card Game you have to since the GBASP lacks an infared port. I was under the impression that Super Mario Bros. Deluxe had similar GBC only features but perhaps I was mistaken. If so that's a shame, but regardless if you're far from a wall outlet and your GBA battery dies, you could always have a backup GBC if you were crazy enough. Plus add to the fact that Gameboy Colors are considered cheap hardware now compared to the GBASP's price point, so there's no big risk in taking it out in the public or anything.

Oh and yeah, you're definitely not the only one who appreciates Mario Bros. DX:


EDIT: Something odd about the no backlight thing is that the Gameboy Color is surprisingly crisp without the backlight, or at least I always thought so. But aside from that, I already have my share of light peripherals for the system.

I belive That Red and Blue Had Quality Music better than those of FR and LG.
The Pokemon after 151 Sucked because Gold/Silver lost Red and Blue's Charm but Did Come with Daylight and Night Which was good for Gold/Silver.

So I agree with Evreything Duclboy said.

after 151? No. More like after 252. Ruby's PKMN were crap and bear little resemblence to the old PKMN. Treeko was pretty much the only thing I liked. Not to mention the story and places you go lack the personality of the old.

And Who the hell is Duclboy?
