Don't Feed The Plants!, 10+ Hour Picture

I started this picture earlier this week.

One week later, the plant is done.

But the picture itself is only 50% completed. You'll see.

All told, I've spent about 10 hours on this part alone.

This is Audrey II, the PLAY version, so he's slightly different from the movie version. I did this entirely with a mouse, in photoshop, using the 1-pixel brush - so you could ALMOST say it's pixel art.

It took forever. I have never spent this long on a single piece of artwork - I usually spend no more than 45 minutes. Here's something that probably took 10 hours or more, and IT'S NOT EVEN HALF DONE!

It's been exhausting but fun to work on this, so I decided to upload a preview of what I have so far. The plant is now mostly done, next comes the background, which will be equally detailed. The finished picture will be a replica of the Little Shop of Horrors 2003 Broadway soundtrack and the dimensions will be 600x536 pixels.

I hope you enjoy it, I consider this to be my best drawing ever.

Seriously, I used the 1-pixel paintbrush tool in Photoshop to color it in, didn't use bucket fill at all cuz that would've looked bad. I just had to zoom in really close and do the little details. I also used the dodge tool and the burn tool in Photoshop, if anyone here is familiar with those.

It's also on 1 layer. Some people like using dozens and dozens of layers, I usually just stick with 1, and I did it this time too.

I really need to try it sometime, I just have a habit (bad habit) of only using one layer. I might experiment with this picture.
