Although IE doesn't bug me as much as it did before, I'm sticking with Firefox to keep the swarms of popups away. Luckily, most spyware automatically latches onto IE, so I'm using it as my 'Virtual fly trap'.

I still don't care, once my computer's fixed, I'm nuking IE ( Theres a free version of program that can do it, its called 98Lite ) off it and bringing in Firefox!

I used a program I couldnt remember the name of to remove IE from my second computer's win2k install, and then it was really glitchy.
I didn't really gain anything from it either.

I recommend just not using IE as opposed to ripping it out; Occasionally I have to use IE to check how bad a website layout looks in IE as opposed to firefox... have to cater to the majority too sad.gif

Seriously, I don't get these "swarms" of pop-ups. What kind of sites are you visiting? o.O

Because I keep MFGG clean. >.>

And getting rid of IE entirely is a bad idea because some sites, especially financial systems and information systems, will block 'non-compliant' browsers, or use IE-specific features. For example, I can't use my Student Information System for University in anything other than IE.

For some reason Netscape doesn't run Java applets properly, so whenever I have one I need to copy and paste the url into IE so I can view it properly. I have no idea why, since it is enabled for Netscape and everything...

I personall, hate Netscape, I think it's the worst browser ever.

No offense of course.

Beats me. When I use IE, the same popups come up every 2 minutes, like a never ending cycle of "Download these ringtones" or "YOU mAY hAve SPyRWARE!!1".

The only popups I get on Firefox are ones that are embedded to a site, and are supposed to come up.
