| QUOTE (Metal-Geo @ Aug 18 2005, 10:10 PM) | | Somewhere I heard Nintendo is being smart at rich features using cheap methods. Dunno... dreamed? |
Nintendo are clever in that they aim for profit over sales. So while they are pretty far down this generation's rankings, it doesn't hurt them too much, as they still have a pretty penny and brand recognition.
| QUOTE | | Besides, Nintendo's the only one in the game market. Both Microsoft and Sony gone the "Media Center" way. All they think about are are kick-ass hardware, features to beat the other company and saying Xbox 360 > PS3 or vica versa. Nintendo cares about the games which power their systems. |
Of course Microsoft cares more about hardware than games, that's why they bought Bungie and have Squaresoft clawing at their pants zippers for a taste. That, and they certainly seem aware that Live is much more of a drawing point than, say, DVD support.
So kids, let's look objectively at the advantages that each player in this game has...
Nintendo: Big name franchises, interesting and sometimes successful experiments/gimmicks. Microsoft: Can afford to splash out, major interest in online play, knowledge of the attraction of ridiculously loud and flashy things. Sony: The marketing machine of God.
