Then stop getting your hopes up. >8(

Know what would be awesome? Gyro sandwiches in the controller.

PARAKARRY,

YOU USE THE CONTROLLERS WITH SUCH TECHNOLOGY TO PLAY. UNLESS IT IS OPTIONAL, IT IS FREAKING OBVIOUS THAT YOU WILL BE PLAYING THE NES GAMES WITH THE REVOLUTION'S GIMMICK.

Get it through your head and stop mocking me for the love of god. Other people such as Klobber got their point across without doing so. Why couldn't you?

AUGH
You weren't forced to use the rumble pack for older N64 games, it's totally possible you won't have to use this possible feature for the new games, it's not the controller, it's somethig in the controller that can obviously be turned off, not applied to some things, and furthermore, why the hell would anyone do that to function with old games like that? It doesn't take that much brainpower to figure that out, k?
Nintendo isn't stupid.

of course you wouldn't have to use the GYRO's, but since it has ordinary control buttons, you'd use those. Although they could add the gyro-feedback into old games to give a new "feel" to them, which would be pretty awesome

You seem so sure that there are going to be buttons.

Sorry but no. Playing NES games and such with gyros would be ridiculous.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Iwata stated the Revolution will be able to use Gamecube controllers. All of the older games, can work with the GCN controller.

Rumble Pak isn't built into the N64's controller and wasn't hyped as much as this controller is being. So... irrelevant.

Because obviously those who haven't had a Gamecube should be forced to buy an extra set of controllers.

I kinda have to agree with PK, Klobber, and a few others in this topic. If gyroscopic functions ARE included in the controller, they're most likely going to include a way to shut them off for the older games. Nintendo's a smart company. They'll know what to do for things like this if nothing else.

And even still, the older games didn't come with rumble OR gyro functions for that matter anyway because it hadn't been invented. They're probably not going to reprogram the old games to have those features.

Reggie himself said that since you'd be able to play all previous nintendo games, the controller would have to be able to do that. Since there will be no touch screens or anything of the sort, that only leaves one option of having buttons.

There must be at least as many buttons as there are on a gamecube controller

And I take it you know that a Gamecube controller won't be bundled with the Revolution?

Hey, I can see them doing it. They make you buy memory cards and all that extra, don't they? You don't necessarily have to use a Gamecube controller (assuming this is true), so I don't really see anything wrong with them making you have to buy a GCN controller.

If that's even true, I wanna see a source.

If the controller is almighty, and can play almost all games from the NES, SNES, N64, and GCN library, what's the point of the Revolution having "4 Gamecube controller ports" on the backside of the system?

I would be pleased if this was the case. It's not as idiotic sounding as the other rumors.

GO!

Let's try adding to the discussion like even those of us who were making "snide remarks" were, Greliz. I challenge you! biggrin.gif

So now you're saying that it's going to be required to play older games with old gamecube controllers, huh? Just because they have the ports on there doesn't mean it's going to be a requirement.

Well what else would they use Gamecube controllers for? Only other thing I can think of is some Gamecube accesory that uses a controller port, but I can't imagine why on earth you would need anything utilizing a Gamecube port unless it was to be used with a Gamecube game.

maybe people have a ton of gamecube controllers and then revolution comes out and they dont want to spend money on extra REVO controllers.

Besides, why not ? Would you rather not be able to? Would you be mad if they added n64 SNES and NES ports too?

I'm not stating it, I'm saying that it's a possibility. If the Revolution controller would play Gamecube games, as most people are stating, then what's the point of having Gamecube controller slots? You seem like you don't even think it's a possibility.
