And they squawk and occasionally mimic. Today, about 1000 of them were flying around my neighborhood. It's so loud...I can't even hear my music. The only way to shut them up is to slam cymbals real hard.

I live directly next to a railroad. When [Blaine] the train comes along, the whole damn place begins to shake, and the sounds of perpetual chugging and screeching of rails fills the air, at which point I cannot hear anything I am doing. If my cats are outside at the time a train is passing by, they become terrified and claw up my window screens, trying to get inside. Mind you, many of the trains are quite long, and some won't even fully leave the vicinity for a full 15 minutes. I also get at least four of them per day. Every summer a crap load of parrots move into a tree thats in my neighbors yard. they squak like at 5am and dont stop till like 11. sometimes, when i'm not lazy, I shoot at them with my bb gun so they leave.
