and Super Mario 64 DS with it.

I'm already hooked. If I had more money I could have pre-ordered Nintendogs and bought Wario Ware: Touched. I'll end up getting more games for Christmas anyways.

Anyways, SM64DS has been great so far. Problem is, my brother's hogging my new DS right now sad.gif

Yeah the DS is awesome.

Why does Australia get games later than the US?

Well if it did, I still need my paycheck from July that I probably won't see until late September.

I confirmed the price drop for America. Here's a snippet of the "deals" for DS systems right now from "mbstuff" of CheapAssGamer:

There's only 4 "deals" that I know of involving the DS.

Circuit City gives you a free starter kit.
Toysrus gives you spiderman DS and a starter kit OR nintedogs and a starter kit, but the price for the bundle is $150.
Toysrus online gives you spiderman DS and a starter kit for $120.
Wal-mart gives you Mario 64, which I think is the best deal of the bunch. B&M these are starting to run out, because they don't have too many remaining of the blue DS with Mario 64 pack-in.

Australia gets games later than the US because they are forced to wait until translations are available from Nintendo of Europe. Now this wouldn't seem like it should matter to the Australian people; but it just so happens that most of western Europe has to deal with waiting on NoE to get games translated into at least English and French and sometimes far more languages. However, in many cases nowadays; especially with that of the handhelds (that are not region coded, I might add), it takes a significantly long amount of time before they are released over seas.

Note the late PSP launch in Europe as compared to say Japan or the US.

You see these trends because console manufacturers can only put out so many hardware units at a time, and launch dates are typically understocked as demand is excessively high. So rather than risk releasing in different territories at the same time, companies start with where they will be most sure to make money (notice the US coming to the frontlines as console purchaser with the DS release), and work their way down through the territories.

Overall, "Europe" is #3 in the world by a long shot. Places outside Japan, the US, and "Europe" as it would be called, are barely even considered marketable due to video game pirates.
