I like the amount of characters, and the graphics look awesome, but I really wish they'd do some stuff that wasn't in the show. (Raditz going SSJ)

I know it sounds wierd, but it's not like they'd make it easy to unlock or anything. sad.gif

I agree with you there, but there is going to be some amount of "what if" scenarios at least.

And if Budokai's storyline involving Cell absorbing Krillin is any indication, there might even be some bizarre characters coming out of it.

Budokai 1. While it had 3D cutscenes, 2 had a boardgame with a basic story and 3 had a 3D map with just pictures and dialogue. Sparking looks to bring a limited 3D cutscene, so far looking only like the models standing and talking with not much dynamic happenings. The intro is CG though and rocks.

You'll see "dynamic happenings" in the parts of the story that had them. Most of the reason we're not seeing too much action in the cutscenes is probably because there sometimes really are "dramatic scenes" in Dragonball where the characters just ramble on. However, from the looks of the Goku and Nappa cutscene, if a storyline calls for action during a cutscene you will see it.

But you're right not to expect as much action. While I'm sure Sparking! covers the entirety of the Dragonball story, it's done in a much more "focused" perspective, on certain memorial events and so forth. Budokai's cutscenes became exciting because they were rewritten for a faster pace, a roller coaster ride through the universe up to the Cell saga.

I'm amazed you didn't realize that, since that's what sold most people on the game.

But rather than being so assuming of what you know, I'll take this chance to bring up the destructable environment. Watch the video I posted showcasing Oozaru, and take notice as he swings Vegeta into that building.

I know it's been pointed out that the game would have arena destruction before, but seeing it in action like that was pretty snazzy compared to the Budokai system of "cinematic destruction."

Hm, now that you mention it, I imagine a lot of people could be as easily mistaken as you considering the nature of the previous Budokai games.

If that's true, they'll be in for a pleasant surprise if they still pick it up.
