good but I've find a small bug, mario can perform wall kick even if he's ducking wich looks a bit weird. Other than that it's perfect!!

It's been done.
Check out (maybe) glitchless version 1.6a on the first page.
-Fixed the wall kick glitch
-Fixed the sliding glitch (you can now slide over "transparent" walls)
-Recolored the gloves to white
-Recolored the sprites so that all have the same pallette
-Added Small Mario

Press 1 for Small Mario and 2 for Super Mario.

the only glitch I see is you didn't put the two earthquake objects when small mario makes a groundpound but maybe that was intentionnal!

That was intentional.
In fact, the earthquake is kinda a power-up.
Super Mario shouldn't be able to do it either. I just added it to try how it would look.

Trying to wall jump with little Mario seems to be a lot harder than wall jumping with big Mario... Sometimes he doesn't 'grab on' at all, and just falls...

That's all I can think of right now...

Well, I tried it with small Mario, but I had no problems.
You know that you have to jump towards the wall and not straight up?

Tenth Entry

New Power-Ups
I worked on the sprites a bit and while doing this I made to new power-ups: Fire Mario and Metal Mario.
Metal Mario's special abilities are finished, Fire Mario is just like Super Mario. Fire will be added later.
Press 3 for Fire Mario and 4 for Metal Mario.
Metal Mario's special abilities:
-Is heavier, so the gravity is 2 instead of 1.
-Can make the earth quake thing
-Can walk under water

Swimming
I had some trouble with it but it worked in the end.
Under water you can't perform the ground-pound, backflip or wall kick.
Gravity is 0.5.
Press 0 to change between water and land mode.

As I said in a previous post, I'm not trying to copy SMB3.
And so Mario IS supposed to use his swimming animation on the floor, just as in SM64.

About the speed in the water, that can be fixed.

Programmer's Log, Guinea -- 9-14-2005
Eleventh Entry

New Version, New Name!
Yesterday I started to make blocks.
I made brick blocks, ?-blocks, emtpy blocks and note blocks.
The note blocks don't work so far, but the others work great.
I also added background and tiles to make it look better.
Because of these heavy changes and the fact that the basic engine is completed, the next Version will be Version 2.0!

I also thought about the name of this project, "The Perfect Engine".
I thought that this would sound a bit too good, because no engine is perfect. Not even the ones from Shiggy himself.
So I looked for another name.
I realized that my engine is a mix between the classic 2D platformers and SM64.
So I decided to continue the work on the engine with the aim to combine as many Mario games as possible in it.
Meaning I will try to add a lot from SM64 and stuff from other Mario games, like FLUDD, Yoshi, 2 Player mode, etc. etc. etc.
The new code name for my engine will therefore be "All Mario Engine".
But hey! If it ever becomes perfect, I can always rename it! wink.gif

What can be done with the final engine?
I can modify it like I want to make lots of different games to give you guys a lot of entertainment.
I can modify it like YOU want to give certain persons I trust the opportunity to use the engine in their own games.

Well, that's it so far. Update will be added later this day.
