The sliding bits in SA2 were okay, but certianly not good enough to make a full game out of it, which seems to be the case here. I think that's just a rumor. The characters are owned by the company, not the individual. That's like saying the designer of Meta Knight quit, so Kirby needs a new nemesis. It doesn't make sense.

I know that happened with Mighty, since he wasn't in Sonic Heroes like the rest of the Chaotix, but I'm unshure that happened with Bean/Bark... I thought the guy had left before STF...

I think they didn't put him in because he was too much like Sonic.
