I heard on a board somewhere that there was a program designed to rip sprites by copying the application window of the emulator and saving them as images. I had this program once, and I wanted to know if anyone could tell me where I could download it again.

I use the emulator itself to rip sprites.

If there was, it should be a lot more popular. Either that or it's magic.

That's the closest thing there is. There's no "easy" way to rip sprites. You just have to do it by hand.

I take snapshots in ZSNES and tear them apart by hand. I should submit my "Yoshi Island Construction Kit" sometime.

Not much different than ripping sprites from a official game. =P

I wouldn't mind sprites being ripped from my games as long as they weren't hand-created by me (i.e. a lot of the stuff in my Giant Island level in SME2)

No, what I am doing is, there is this special comic http://www.kidradd.com , and It makes comics by putting seperate images in a table to create secens and stuff, and the images, when I try to open them to rip the animation frames to make a spritesheet (I's all original sprites and characters and everyone on the forum there wants more fangames of it) the normal transparent color looks like normal black. So I thought that with that program, I could copy the web browser window and rip them with the trancparice being normal. But I found an alternate method.

Dig around for HiJAAK Pro. It's old, but it does what you apparently want.

1) It came with a package of Clipart made for people running Windows 3.1. So, since it's not freeware, we can't offer you a download.

2) But it's old, and abandonware. Use Google to dig a copy up.

It wouldn't seem like that would help you much. It would just put a picture on your hard drive, but what else?

Use ZSNES, by pressing

1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, you can disable backround layers so there's just the sprite, you don't even have to delete any pixels around it. It's the fastest way besides having a tile mapper or something.

5 is the sprite layer, don't press that or the sprites disappear.

Basically, what you want is to set the Frame Skip to 0, disable all layers except the Sprite Layer, then Alt + PrntScreen (ZSNES's built-in tool sometimes fecks the colors) into your image editor.
