If someone was to make an anime of Super Mario now, it would most likely be based off of Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Just look at the cutscenes and events! That seems entirely possible. After all, it worked for Megaman.EXE, which was practically an anime to begin with.

The japanese originally didn't have a writing system of their own. They adapted the chinese characters as their own writing (which are now called Kanji). Eventually another writing system of phonetic characters was developed, with symbols based on the chinese characters (hiragana and katakana). Chinese Kanji are still widely used in Japan, especially for things like names in credits of anime shows. It's easier to have a symbol for a word that could mean different things.

if at first you dont succeed redefine success Group: Members Posts: 7000 Member No.: 39 Joined: 13-October 03 Status: (0d)	I think I know what your talking about Fanguy, I read this thing in a book about it before, like japanese kids (or chinese, I forget which) study some form of kanji in school that have symbols that mean things instead of letters that have a sound like "ha" or "na" or 2 letters containing a consteenent and vowel. That explains in the animal crossing/animal forest rom I have has japanese letters for animal then has a symbol containing what looks like 3 trees stacked on top of eachother.. blah.
