Okay, after struggling to do this myself for quite a while I've realized that I'm better at designing stuff like this than I am at actually doing it. My HTML skills are laughable at best.

If there's anyone here who's competent at HTML and would be willing to help me redesign Hocus Pocus, that'd be great. I would provide all the graphics and stuff, I'd just need someone to do the HTML for me. When you design it, you can just use placeholder graphics and whatever colorscheme you like; those details can be hammered out later

While I'm not shooting for anything overly fantastic (nothing Flash based, no scripts of any kind) I am looking for something a bit more complicated than a random Geocities website. I want the site to look reasonably professional. So please keep that in mind before offering to help, if anyone's interested.

Here's a little diagram of what I have in mind. As you can see it's a relatively simple layout. A place for the banner at the top, copyright stuff at the bottom, a menu on the left and the content next to that. As for the tables being oval-shaped, it's something I would like...oval shaped tables with an image border of some sort. Kind of like the old layout, if anyone remembers it. If it's too much trouble I guess I could end up just making them square.

If anyone's interested, reply and let me know and I can be available on AIM. I'll also make sure to give you credit for your help in the copyright/disclaimer section that will appear on each page, and I'll draw you something if you wish. I know it's not much to repay something like this, and I'm not even sure if anyone here would be interested, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I really just need the bare bones of this, if you give me something to work with I can get the images and stuff added to it and hopefully it'll look nice. So...let's see if anyone's interested. smile.gif

Well, I'm starting to get the hang of Dreamweaver, so if RII doesn't do the entire thing himself, I could definently help.

Depends on the complexity of the project. From the looks of what Klobber wants so far, Notepad would probably be easier in this instance.

RII's helped me out a lot, so I think I can close this topic. Thanks to the other people who offered help though.

Just for the purposes of discussion, the only thing about Dreamweaver is its tendency to insert too many html tags than is necessary into the project. And I recall RII mentioning an instance where Dreamweaver would sometimes insert html tags that don't even exist.

Good program for people like me who don't know beans about this sort of thing, though.

The only problem I have with dreamweaver is it's constant idea of adding "<p>" tags instead of "<br>". It's really annoying, as it makes a huge gap in between each line...

The problem with any WYSIWIG editor including DreamWeaver and FrontPage is the markup is very messy.

It might be helpful for exploring your ideas, but if you know exactly what you want, it can be done quicker and cleaner in a text editor.

The paragraph tag drops the next stuff down one line. When used properly it should have the same effect as the linebreak tag

EDIT: If it doesn't you can format it with stylesheets
