If its below 12, most likely its safe.

Oh yeah, most mangas are better then the animes, example would be Dragonball or Kiddy Grade. The only ones I've seen that are just as good is Ruroni Kenshin. Although I would advise to anyone not reading the Yu yu Hakusho manga. Its a rather down fall compared to the anime.
