I have a excellent idea to create a custom engine based on someone else's. (They will be in the credits).

Anyway, what engine for the game (MMF) should I edit? I need your help!

Now ok, can someone point me in the right direction? I need a engine compatible with:

Flashing - when luigi get hurt,
Swimming - for under water levels,
running - so the play can run with star power
? & Brick Hitting - so the player can smash thru puzzles.

Ok, I think that's all....

Oh and how do I make a:

P-Meter?
HP Bar?
Saving Done Level count?
and what mini-games should I have?

THe more you help, the better!!!

And the more you do yourself the better for your later games.
Don't make a 10/10 attempt with your first game.
Try to make something simple and get to know your program before you start with such projects.
Nobodyone can make his first game that good like you describe it. That's (nearly) impossible.

And it's always a better feeling to put in the credits "Engine made by me" instead of "Engine found by me".

Think about that.

And IF you still want to do such a game, then at least learn from it and don't forget the things you copied.

Anyway, if someone can tell me what to do about making my own engine, like the basic walking, stopping, and the other stuff, that would be nice. Trasher, Klobber, Nes Boy, and others i'm relying for you to help me make one. Or, this project will die.

Have you checked MMF's events at all? If you're trying to learn basic static engine concepts shouldn't you use TGF first

Can't find a learning engine. I'm going to make my own engine, with help from Mfgg'ers!

Hmmm.... Downloaded that Pocket Mario Engine by Retiver II and edited it to suit luigi's anim's. All that remains is a tricky level design and some really tough bosses.
