Okay, with fifteen Halloween episodes already aired and another one coming up, this is the perfect time of the year to talk about it.

I miss the old ones with the framing sequences that build up to/introduce the shorts (the first one had Bart and Lisa telling stories, the second had Homer, Bart, and Lisa having nightmares, the thrid had a Halloween party going on, and the forth had a Night Gallery type thing) and Marge's disclaimers that are constantly ignored by the audience, but from what I've seen of the more recent ones, they're still good.

Homer: AAHHH! They're dogs... AND THEY'RE PLAYING POKER! (Hysteric screaming)

The absolute best was Homer Cubed (The 3D one).

That said, all the treehouse of horrors have been neat, because, even if they aren't funny like recent years, they are still good because they can do stories they can't normally do during the rest of the series.

PLUS... Kang and Kodos. I mean c'mon. they rock.

I saw the one that aired last year, and I was highly dissapointed at how stale the humor has become in them. I don't have high hopes for the one showing on Sunday.

That and the time travel one owns. Also, the fact that it (Homer 3D) was referenced in the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour (3D Timmy using "bulgy" in the same sense as 3D Homer, and let's not forget that Mr. Hartman is a Simpsons fan..) make it even better.

that's awesome. I always thought his "everything is all bulgy" line was a little too close to the simpsons line to be coincidence.

This topic is getting a nesesary bump, because this is the first Treehouse of Horror episode that isn't a Season Premire episode in a while (it was preceeded by three other episodes in the season; "Bonfire of the Manatees", "The Girl Who Slept Too Little", and "Milhouse of Sand and Fog"). The stories for tonight's Treehouse of Horror are:

B.I.: Bartificial Intelligence - A robot Bart replaces the real Bart.
Survival of the Fattest - The hunter becomes the hunted as Homer and his pals are being hunted by Mr. Burns during a reality show.
I've Grown a Costume on Your Face - A spoof of a Buffy episode where the Simpsons turn into whatever their cursed costumes are.

Sounds like a parody of "The Most Dangerous Game"...

Anyway, hopefully this years will be much better. Usually, THoH shows are among the best, but last years was one of the worst episodes ever (lawl Comic Book Guy).

I haven't seen all of them, but I have to say my favorite one is probably the Nightmare on Elm Street spoof with Groundskeeper Willie in the Freddy Krueger role.

Did anybody notice during the "alias" credits (a ToH tradition) that Al Jean was credited as "Al 'Family Guy' Jean?"

Agreed.
*baseball is sped up*
Kane: IT'S STILL BORING! Let's make it faster.
Kodos: No, if you do that, the fabric of space/time will be distorted!
Kane: We have no choice! *sets dial to maximum*
*baseball players turn into a black hole*
*city is swallowed*
*continent is swallowed*
*oceans are swallowed*
*remainder of earth is swallowed*
*moon is swallowed*
*solar system and galaxies are swallowed*
*God is haging on for dear life as he gets sucked into the hole with the remainder of existence*
Kane: Ohhh, now look what you did!
Kodos: We'll just leave a note. *puts up sticky note with Treehouse of Horror title*

I didn't laugh once during this years episode, altough I thought that the baseball thing was true, as it is very boring.
