I started reading HP before it became mega popular, so I was never turned away by its popularity.

Although I do disagree about LOTR, I love it and it's one of those defining movie series of my life that profoundly affected me...but I can see how someone would find it boring.

Also I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say JBL probably hates LOTR *and* HP

This is the last book I picked up that I finished. (In stopped in book 5) I have to say this was a great movie. The special effects were great, the actors were all back, at least those who could be. However having said that the whole movie was rushed. Everything happened so fast. I mean I can understand trying to cram a 700 page book into a 2 and a half hour movie, don't get me wrong. But this movie moved so fast it confused even me here and there. And for people who haven't read the book, like my friend who went with me had no idea what was going on.
As Duckboy said quite a few scenes have been cut and where was Quidditch? Not just the world cup or whatever but at school too? And why was Draco Malfoy is so few scenes? Dursleys anyone? It just felt like too many things were cut out to spend time on the tournament. But I don't want to turn you away, this is a great movie. I just didn't find it as good as the last one.

It is more dark though.
