My dad just left my mom..., and our family.

I can't relate since my parents were separated when i was a baby, but I'm really sorry to hear your dad just walk out on you like that. If he had any sense of heart, at LEAST he should have made sure your family would be prepared and financially stable before his departure. The otherwise is just not right.

Well... damn.

Ooo... That sucks... My parents almost got divorce because of my grandma.

In my case my mother was the villian. We were in a car accident when I was 2 & we could've gotten $500k, but the courts decided that if she could g0o to Disney World she wasn't that sick. We only got $100k. Then she squandered that by taking me to Ruby Tuesdays like every ****ing week when I was like 5. I could've a college fund now but I don't.

She also IMO lied & said my dad hit her, so he was removed from the house by the police. Then she ruined our beautiful house by neglect. She let pipes freeze & the property value sunk to rock bottom.

All the while she kept saying how many problems my dad had. She's doped up on depression medicine all the time anyway. Depression as a disease is bull****, IMO.

& she eventually moved to LA to be with her parents when she fell pretty ill. She'd surgery, but I didn't care. Then, within a year of being down there, she marries some Protestant after fighting a bunch with her Catholic parents. Stupid infighting Christians...

So after she'd made that big deal about my dad abandoning her & going back on vows, because he actually divorced her, she remarries within a year of moving. I visited them this Summer. He tried telling me what to do. Tried being my step dad. I told him he was just my mother's husband. I hate him, because he's a **** with way to many ulterior motives.

My mother gives me money all the time, so she's alright I guess. Seriously, I spend all her money when I visit her. I'm pretty sure she's aware that's the only reason I still talk to her.

So yea, you're not the only one with troubles in the home. Here's hoping your dad is just having a rough time & isn't **** like my mother.

Holy crap, you have to be my brother or something because that's more or less the same way my parents came close to splitting.

My grandma died last year...strange.

Er... my grandmother just got a stroke in October, it has created a sense of tension in the home.... uh oh!

The the problem major problem with my family is alcoholism, they then seem not to care about anything or such when they got carried away and man, the things I've being told, it tells that my family is *SERIOUSLY* ****ed up, my father was in a stupidly large family over a pub and my mother was seen by her mother as well, think of how Luigi is viewed compared to Mario!

I feel for you buddy, my mind being messed around with here a lot here as well! its why I can't / won't rise my family around the area I was rasied in, I'm getting out of here ASAP!

What has happened must suck big time but sometimes, these kind of things happen, get through this and you'll come out a stronger and better person and considering the crap I've being through, I really am a strong person spritually!

Also, there should be plenty of people / services out there that can help you and your family at this time.

My parents constantly threaten each-other. They're like animals.

Oh, and if you think your Holidays are bad, you should see this one guy I know. On thanksgiving, his dad shot his mom to death at the dinner table over lumpy gravy. I'm not ****ting you.

I'm so sorry. That's horrible. I can relate to your situation a little because my parents keep breaking up and then I'm without my mom for awhile (my dad has custody because she's only my step-mom) But yeah, it's really horrible when you're without one of your parents. Your dad sounds like an ass hole for leaving your family like that. I hope things turn out okay.

I can't offer any help, unfortunately, since this thing's never happened to me before.

Really sorry to hear about it, nonetheless. I've known of instances where one left for a while to blow off steam then returned once he was over it. Let's just hope that's all it was, hmm?

I consider myself lucky, my parents divorced when I was in 4th or 5th grade, but they live within driving distance and don't treat each other or act like they're the omfg enemy. They even talk civilly to each other when discussing things that concerned my sister and me, and would even attend school events at the same time.

So I kind of know how you feel and yet completely don't as well. I don't know what could be going through the mind of a guy who had what he had (children who obviously love him very much, for one thing) and just decides to throw it all away. I hope things work out for you and your family.
