Okay, so today I stayed home from college due to a ****ing blizzard. As soon as I get comfortable, I gotta shovel the walkway again. My hard work gets undone in 20 minutes. At one point bits of ice were in the snow with insane winds, not just causing white-out conditions but hurt like hell in the face.
After finishing shoveling, I decided to go back on the interweb, when out of the blue...
THUNDER.
The snowstorm was so bad it was generating thunder and lightning. So, no computer.

As I was relaxing down in the basement with video games, my dad comes down and tells me something that happened on the news:

I had to spend about an hour driving in the absolute worst part of the storm. It was terrifying. Zero visibility and my windshield was accumulating a lot of ice and water. Not to mention slick, untreatable roads. Anything that closes UMASS down is pretty significant. --------------------

Virginia never experiences any terrible weather, and when it does, it pails in comparison to any other "bad" weather in other states. Seriously, Hurricane Isabel was pretty weak, and that's the most disastrous weather we've had in ages.

We probably got some of the worst stuff in the country, well into the negatives in winter, fried egg on sidewalk in summer.
