King Kong

HOLY ****.

THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING.

I just got back from seeing it, and I really can't think of where to start talking about all the cool stuff. It takes a while to get going (they spend about an hour developing the characters) but once they reach Skull Island, holy **** there's never a dull moment.

The CGI during some scenes looked a bit fake, mainly during the dino stampede. Apart from that, it was pretty amazing, ESPECIALLY Kong, who looks incredible. The fact that they could make me get misty eyed over a CGI created ape speaks for how realistic he was.

It's a loooong movie, being over 3 hours, but somehow Narnia felt a lot longer than this even though it was an hour shorter. Must have been because of all the action scenes. But yeah, I loved this movie. Best one I've seen in a long time.

Also, Jack Black was surprisingly good in the movie, even if I did keep imagining him breaking out into random Tenacious D songs.

Oh yeah. A TON of references to the old one - having just watched it on TV a few days ago, it made me smile to see all the little nods they made.

Yeah, definitely gonna see it, since my mom's so hyped up about it.

I hear it's getting rave reviews.

Hopefully critics aren't uelaeing and speaking of something else than "signs" >>

Holy.... over three hours? I had no idea it was going to be so epic.

Well the thing with the new Kong movie is that it is a true to the original remake. Not a re-visioning, or a re-telling. AT least that's what I've read in the reviews.
I should see it soon.

But you got all misty eyed just from Yoshi's Island in M&L: PIT.

And your point is...? If you mean to imply I get misty eyed easily...er, no. Kong was genuinely moving.

So anyways, I want to go see this, but I don't know when. I still can't believe a girl actually got mad at me for spoiling that Kong dies and how he dies. I mean come on.

I also saw a review in which the reviewer said Kong climbs "The Chrysler Building".

But yeah, I'm gonna see it... eventually. My brother says it is very, very good, even though my dad doesn't like that fact that the woman starts to almost fall in love with Kong (as shown in some trailers), or at least care about him. Now, that makes a lot more sense than in the original, since any intelligent person would realise "Hey, this big monkey hasn't eaten me yet. I guess he doesn't want to hurt me..." after all that time instead of screaming their lungs out the minute her picks them up again.

Goin' to watch it this afternoon....I can't wait!

I love calling this Lord of the Rings 4 because of its length and the fact that Peter Jackson directed it. I still can't wait to see it though.

Just don't get the DS game

The ending where they revive him is kinda cool tough.

If I had two words to discribe this movie they would be Holy. and ****.
The movie is so kickass it's...kickasskickass. This is probably if not the best, one of the best movies of 2005. It was the perfect way to end 2005. A year full of generaly lame movies. The action, the romance, the comedy. It has it all. Peter Jackson continues to be unchallenged. Is there any movie he can't make?
The movie IS long, yes, very long. (Over 3 hours) And you will notice it. But in the end, it's all worth it. Adrien Brody's facial expressions are priceless and he is a very unlikely action hero. Amazingly, he pulls it off well. Naomi Watts is one of my new favorite actresses. She makes you actually believe that she IS in love with Kong. She is better then Fay West. Jack Black doesn't really fit the part at first but as his character develops you can see why he was choosen for the role. And finally King Kong himself, he's never been better. He now actually acts like a Ape and walks on all fours. His personality and emotions are as strong as ever. Kudos for that Jackson.
The story is sooo much better then both 30's and 70's versions. The whole thing was just written to have a lot more sense. And Skull Island you can now see why it is called Skull Island. This is an action movie, there is no doubt about it. There are so many actions scenes that after a while it just kind of gets to the point of, yeah right. They could have cut a few of those. The creatures of Skull Island are as scary as ever. Especially those Leeches. Holy **** those were scary.
The only thing I can complain about in this movie is the music, it was just nothing special. But hey, you don't go to an action flick to hear music right? I also wish they would have shown how they got home with Kong.

Anyway great action scenes, in fact these are the best I've seen in my life. They're that good.

10/10 No doubt about it.

All this has me extremely psyched for the Halo movie. Expecially after reading snippets of the script.
