There's a clear cut difference between an expression of opinions and being an asshole.

You can express your opinion without insulting someone at the same time, which are what most of the posts are in this topic so far.

If I said, "this is horrible," most people would consider that me being an asshole, even though it's just my opinion and I didn't add any unnecessary comments.

Right, you guys continue on your discussion/argument, I'll be over on the sidelines eating popcorn.

Well yeah, if you didn't explain why you thought it was horrible, you'd come off looking like an asshole. But even then, some people go as far as to continue being overly negative in their explanation as to why they think something looks bad.

Oh my god, if people want to say they don't like it they have the right to. If someone wants to call someone an asshole for some reason they have the right too. Now if someone tells you that you shouldn't talk like an asshole you have the right to ignore them.

I suggest you do so.

And who the hell says we're not allowed to? I do not see how someone saying it's terrible and being nice about it can be any better than any other way to say it is terrible.

At no point are we directly insulting the author (besides tech calling him a n00b), and short of that we can say whatever we damn please.

I don't think you should just ignore something you disagree with. If someone disagrees with something I say or do I would like to hear why they disagree and discuss it.

This topic is pretty much going downhill and by this point the author has gotten the point that his first effort needs improvement. By this point any further replies will either be a continuation of this debate or more bashing of the original post, so I think it's lock time.
