I got a new Cube for my birthday October 5th. And ever since a week or two ago, when I popped in SA2B, it started to not read disks. Wasn't even like the occasional non-readable. It just jumped, it's now at like 4/6 of the time it doesn't read the disc.
It doesn't even have the problem that my old Cube had where the insides would whir and it would think there was no disk. It reads for a bit, then stops and either says "The disk cannot be read." or "An error has occured."

I was going to take it in to see what could be done. The thing is, we don't remember where we got the Cube, or what our warrenty policy is right now. It's only been two months, I refuse to believe it's busted already!

I still have the box the Cube came in, and it has all the bazillions of pamplets and stuff in it. I just don't know if anything in there can help me determine what's going on. Does anyone have an idea? The fact that it worked fine up until two weeks ago and just jumped to all the time not reading anything is definately not natural.

Has ShadowMan hit you with it?

Well in all seriousness, my GCN has lasted what four years and very rarely fudges up while reading a disc. My PS2 which is 2 years newer has more disc read errors. :P

Did you buy this second-hand? If it's brand new some fool probably bounced it down a ramp during delivery to the store, or it was assembled improperly. The warranty DOES last a year so you can just replace it...

It's a pretty new model cube, I still have the box with all the ads and promotional stuff. I'm sure it was bought new.
