Whenever I press the hotkey to screen capture my desktop, nothing happens. Is there anything I have to do to make it do something? =/

Fraps is a universal Windows application that can be used with all games using DirectX or OpenGL technology.

Try opening a media player and a movie file. Notice the framrate in the corner? That's from fraps.

I believe fraps can only capture videos, games, and things of the like. I could be wrong, but that's all I have ever used it for.

For capturing an image of your desktop why not just use printscreen?

some animation programs can also open movie files and save them as GIF's, including saving only one frame as a GIF
