Ok; I got the NSV tools, the Shoutcast server GUI, WinAmp 5 and a capture device.

I can get the server supposedly online; it sees people's attempted connections, I have the appropiate ports forwarded, but I can't even connect to myself.

How do I get a Shoutcast server online? Let us start from step 4, where I have all the necessary equipment, just not the know-how on getting Shoutcast going

Hmm, looks like you might want to check IPs? Just a guess.

I don't think IPs have anything to do with it; external connections take place, connections from this network also take place, the SHOUTcast server acknowledges them, and gives those errors.

I have no experience with shoutcast in Winamp 5, only 2.x. Make sure you knock holes in all firewalls that might be in place, like Windows Firewall, but I think you're past that. Are the source passwords the same in your INI file and in your DSP plugin?

Ok there's where I think I could be having problems; the config file for the server has the default password set "changeme" Also, the DSP plug-in for Winamp shouldnt' be relevant, I think... because it has its own set of (audio-only) streaming options that I screwed with. To clarify; I am using the NSV Tools to stream video to the Shoutcast server, which should distribute them to my viewers.

Should the shoutcast server log show some sign of the video coming in? I feel like the NSVCAP isn't sending **** to it.

does the NSV plugin have some password field then? If it does, it should match the INI value or the source won't have permission to stream. I've only played with DSP, so I don't know if video has extra requirements.

Notice that the NSV tools password is set to "changeme" as well as the password in the Shoutcast configuration file.

So my next question: Should I be inputting local host, or my LAN IP, maybe my WAN IP?

Assuming that password is "changeme", I don't see anything wrong there. But I get connection refused when I try looking at your server's status page, so maybe it's still networking related. You don't have a forgotton Windows firewall or router firewall running behind your back do you?

Oh I'm not trying it right now; that's where that comes from (although I'd expect identical results if I was)

Man; ok I'm currently looking at: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?po...=1040011#nsvcap

That's what we did before; I can't see any problems with my setup so far... now I'm trying to be thorough with the headers but there just isn't much to change

Somewhere between choosing the video codec (it was originally set to none); and adding the ";file.nsv" to the end of the IP a miracle occurred =p

Now a few audio drivers later I've got 40 nations... ready to roll son!
