I'm talking about innovative controls and/or ideas. But obviously throwing snowballs isn't much more than throwing fireballs. You can also do something Nintendo did: Nintendo didn't invent force-feedback, but they were the first to use them in a home console. So you can do something that's just new to fan-gaming, like 3D or whatsoever. You can also try to create unique controls, like the ones I named in my spoilers tag on the first page. I am for example using the idea with the mouse-platformer myself. You control the game by nothing but the mouse and mostly only mouse movement, not clicking. Of course, since it's winter, I'm allowed to use snowballs and everyone else can do it to, but the snowballs aren't the innovative part of it. You can also have an innovative idea like Nintendo had with Pokemon, create an RPG that deals with catching and collecting monsters instead of meeting 4 guys and fighting with them. Another thing would be if you invented a new scoring system or anything like that or you create a new sport. I have a bit of advice too for y'all: Innovation comes from alone if you want to do innovation. Not if you want to win a competition by just matching your game to any rules. Something else: You CAN if you want create something that is playable with some unique controller, like a microphone or something. In this case though you must remember that not everyone has a mic at home so you can prepare a video that demonstrates how this game would be played. Maybe you win althought the chances are small. But maybe the idea can make it alone as you all are very excited about Revolution without having really played it yet. Good luck folks! Five people/teams want to enter so far, this makes me  .
