If you're using MMF, and if you can disect it, you can look in the movement group of events in the high precision movement engine on the site. But that doesn't apply if you're using game maker.
I drew up this flow chart a long time ago, and I'm not claiming it's the fastest or best method for moving on slopes (it actually covers movement in general, including moving up and down slopes), but it works and the concept might give you a little insight to work with. The most relevant part is the right side (moving down a slope), and it's limited to 45° slopes. You can handle steeper slopes at the cost of extra move 1px down and test steps.
Start in the top left box, these are the steps for moving right, and can be adjusted accordingly for the opposite direction.
