In this topic I am adding some quick little reviews for six movies I missed. Please excuse the double posting as I need them as seperate posts for linking purposes. Thanks.

Plus this is better then having six topics.

This was an okay movie. Nothing special other then the story. It's orignal somewhat, but lacks in quite a dfew departments. Keaton is great in it, and really gives it all for. The special effects were pretty good, nothing to special or anything you haven't seen before. But one thing I hate about this movie is it does make you jump at parts. I hate that so much. XD Anyway the movie's ending was pretty stupid and that's what mainly brought the score down. Nothing much folks, just another "fright fest"

Coach Carter is another one of those ever popular high school or college sports team movies. Remember the Titans and upcoming Glory Road come to mind. Samuel L. Jackson does make this a good movie even though we're starting to get tired of this type of film. The film deals a lot with Racism and education, not that this should offend anyone but it is all very true and real. Apparently it's based off a real story but now a days, aren't they all? Let me just set this out on the table, it's another one of those films that deals with poor school kids who suddenly become winners through the help of their coach.

QUOTE
Coach Ken Carter: What is your deepest fear?
Timo Cruz: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Hitch is just about as funny as it gets. This film's story combined with the amazing actors (Will Smith and others) is the best comedy of the beginning of 2005. The story about Hitch the man "fixer" couldn't be better written. In fact it's one of the most original movies so far this year. The client, Kevin James is also too funny. His dancing scenes especially. This is a great movie for couples and families. I seriously recomend buying this film. An instant Will Smith classic.

Hostage needs work. I cannot believe this was even compared to Die Hard. I mean, it's not the worst movie I've ever seen but man, it needs some tuning up. The story is pretty general no matter how many turns they try to add in. Save the family. Willis will always be an action hero, it's what he's good at. But even though he tries his best to make a good movie out of a bad story he still stumbles. The actor choices were alright but some just plain seemed out of place. You want a good ass kicking movie? This is not it. Skip it while you can.

Robots was okay. Certainlly nothing special like Shriek or Finding Nemo. Like most movies it had it's ups and downs. Call me stupid for liking the fart joke but I have to say there was some good humor in it. The all star cast led by Robin Williams really helped that too. Amanda Bynes and Drew Carrey also were great. The story wasn't bad but wasn't great. Little person moves to a big city for a new life. Meets a problem, in this case a corrupt company, and tries to solve it. The animation was great, as in most CGI movies now and the comedy was there. Personally once is enough for me. This movie was so-so, nothing special like Nemo.

I expected so much from Wedding Crashers. It's been all the rage everywhere and here I stand, a disappointed person. I probably didn't get all of the humor in it but to me it just seemed like a American Pie type movie. It's got the general cast, Kinky sister, messed up brother, fat brother, jock, ect. The only thing this movie DID have was Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. They really help the movie, even though the script was not bad at all. They just add so much humor and I don't think another pair could pull it off quite like this. If you want a laugh this is a movie for you, but it'll probably help if you've crashed a wedding before.

Somewhat off topic, but I always feel like an idiot when I "jump" at those jump scenes, even if I'm not the only one doing it. So yeah, I hate that too.

I actually haven't seen any of those movies. For some reason, 2005 was one of those years where I hardly saw anything new in theaters, or on DVD for that matter.

Robots wasn't a great movie by any means. But what it lacked in terms of story and such, it made up for in being just a damned fun movie. Seriously, that dancing robot was amazing.

What bothered me the most about Robots is that it was basically A Bug's Life except with robots instead of bugs. Plus, Robin Williams was kinda bland. I watched Aladdin a few weeks after I saw Robots and was blown away by how much better he was as the Genie.

You don't have to, but I suggest changing the way you score. I don't think an 8/10 is just "okay." ohmy.gif
