Mario Gamer's 2005 Movie Munchies

Well, it's been a so-so year for movies. We've had some great action flicks but missing the comedies of last year. (Anchorman, Dodgeball) There's still a few movies to see for this year but none look too good, and if they are I'll change some thins. Anyway, so I bring you
The 05 Movie Munchie Awards. *Cheesy music*
Please note that there are quite a few movies I did not see and those were not considered in the awards.
Best Action MovieKing Kong
There shouldn't be any surprise here. With a three hour running time this thing was crammed full of Action sequences, even if some weren't needed. It kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
Runners UpWar of the Worlds
Star Wars Ep. III
Batman Begins
Best Drama MovieWalk the Line
Walk the line was the whole true story on Jonny Cash. It has drama as well as humor mixed in with great actors. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing and is certainly coming up as a new actor.
Runners UpCoach Carter
Best Comedy MovieJust Friends
Just Friends is one of those movies that you just keep quoting. Like Anchorman last year. While I admit it wasn't as good it had plenty of one liners to keep you laughing all the way home.
Runners UpWedding Crashers
Fever Pitch
Hitch
Best Animated MovieWallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Nothing even came close to this. It's humor that has lasted for over 10 years and will continue to do so. Even though all it's history was lost in a fire, I really hope that we get another Wallace & Gromit movie in 2010.
Runners UpCorpse Bride
Madagascar
Best Sci-Fi MovieSerenity
It's the movie least expected to make it. But it did. And it makes you wonder why this show (aka Firefly) was taken from the air after it's first season on Fox. The movie had all great actors and a very, very deep story line.
Runners UpStar Wars Ep. III
War of the Worlds
The Island
Best Family MovieCharlie and the Chocolate Factory
I had to add this section really just for this movie. It's a remake of the 1970's classic. Did you really expect anything else to tackle this award?
Runners UpWallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe
Best ActorJoaquin Phoenix (Walk the line)

How he did Jonny Cash so well I will never know. His presentation of him was specatacular and so life like. I don't see how I could give this to another person.
Runners UpJonny Depp (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Christian Bale (Batman Begins)
Best ActressHelena Bonham Carter (Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Corpse Bride, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory)

She was everywhere. She was everything. Pick up a movie from 2003-05 and chances are, she's in it.
Biggest SurpriseSerenity
Seriously have you ever heard of it? Or who's in it? If you have, did you really expect it to be good?
Runners UpThe Island
Fever Pitch
Best Overall Movie of 2005Serenity
It had action, humor, romance, and a ton of unknown actors. I have no idea why Fox cancled the show this was based off of. But ladies and gentlemen this is your movie of 2005.
-----------------------------------------------------
Most wanted movie in 2006Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Probably the best movie based on a ride ever. That's not saying much but it happens to be my favorite ride ever as well. The first one was so good and the trailer looks awsome as well. I cannot wait.
Runners UpV for Vendetta
Mission: Impossible III
X-Men 3
Cars
Miami Vice
Casino Royale
I look forward to some good movies in 2006. This is Mario Gamer signing off.
