Okay, now, Ive descited to post all camoes ive seen so far here. As it seems they will spoil some of the gameplay, I'll put them in the spoil tag.
Here goes:

Spoilers:

Fawful - found in the present Castle underground
Petey Piranha - in the desert colleseum (cant be missed)
Prince Peasley - on a wallpaper at the present Castle shop

I actually see what he's talking about. A character with rather sloppy character design and no personality whatsoever, has to re-occur in every single Mario game since Super Mario Sunshine.

It's somewhat like the Chef in the Muppets: he appears in almost every episode, and Muppet movie, whether he brings any real significance to the plot.

It seems like a half-assed cop-out to make a main character something Nintendo has used many times before. It's like if they were to say "Hey, our creative pours have run dry for a boss of this sewer level...I know, let's use ol' Petey!".

at least he wasn't a playable character in MK:DS or MP7 like Dry bones.

Not to mention lazy.

Kaepora shut up. Poor charcter design? They made a freaking walking piranha. Look at what else they have as far as characters go. Dry bones has some real character, right? Oh man and koopas. They make me all teary eyed everytime I see them. I mean the generic ones. Not the RPG ones.

P.S. Nintendo has something against RPG characters being in spin-off games.

P.S.2. Petey being the boss to that "sewer" was genius because of the old pipes.
