It's neat to wonder what video games will be like. They're so awesome now, how much better can they get? Or what if they stop making video games? We can only speculate.

We'll be fighting Iraq over the internet

Games will probably be virtual reality, and as such, a electronic jumpsuit to play using, think of the awesomeness that will brew from it! Fighting games depend on your actual fighting moves, you need good aim with a gun in fps'es, platformers depend on your jumping abilty and stealth games need good stealth skill. Won't that be awesome?

In 20 years, we'll still be in the same state.
Because the video game companies know that they can make money this way, and not spend so much on expensive technology.
Seriously, do you think EVERY video gamer will be able to squeeze into a VR jumpsuit every day after work?!
And if the current fad of retro gaming continues, people will be looking all over for an RF-to-HDTV converter for their Atari/Coleco/NES.
And here's one other thing: how are games going to remain fresh? People will only play so many Marios and Legends of Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehogs and Grand Theft Autos and Metal Gear Solids before they realize that it's the SAME THINGS ALL OVER AGAIN.
Heck, that could be happening right now. What Mario Party are we on, anyway?

Of course, there would still be games used with a controller for those lazy guys

That sure as hell isn't Microsoft's/Sony's stance

In 20 years or more I see Bill gates losing money and becoming bankrupt from a man sueing him for certain reasons.
The X-box generation XX goes sales are preety high through and with dominating graphics that make your jaw drop.
The Rare team has alo quitted making games for Nintendo or Microscoft since the team is now de-bunk.

Sony however still makes electronics and the Sony PS5 or PS4 is as good as X-box Generation XX sales but a little lower.
Althrough the DVD is also extinct like the VHS and Dinosaurs they make a new system called HD-TV and theaters are no longer needed when movies come out quicker then ever.
Sony also makes a new PSP which has faster loading and longer battery which last for 12 hours before needing to recharge the graphics are also as the PS2 ones.

Nintendo however is still dominating with the new Nintendo Censor DX which has amazing graphics aswell althrough The Father of gaming has also died from a disease but The president still lives on.
Nintendo no longer makes Pokemon games after the last game Pokemon Rainbow which had almost every Pokemon and Land from Kanto to Honenn.
Nintendo's Portable System the Nintendo Evolution is also realesed with many titles in development along with it comes a Beta game of Pikmin mini 3.

THats what I think would happen in 20 or 50 years

They still won't be as good as the old games, haw haw!

I dunno, i t will most likely be something beyond our imagination. Remember it wasn't too long ago people were talking about computers being "as small as a single room", so who knows where video games will be in 50 years? It will probably be something beyond virtual reality, something you can't even imagine.

I dunno, as long as EA is around we could have a problem. It seems like they eat up everyone who comes their way. So long as EA doesn't touch Valve, ID, Epic, Ubisoft, Nintendo, e.t.c. we should be fine. They unfortunately did get to DICE, not that Battlefield 2 has been doing me any good lately (blaming my CPU for most things).
