Some people work very hard on their projects, and are very gleeful into posting it and everyone seeing it in awe. I know. When I posted my pixel art, I only get 2-4 comments while some crappy looking art get 1,000 comments and I was like WTF?! That's why I got myself a DA account so I can at least get 10 or more. That's unfair...

One time I spent like 2 hours on some original pics for someone and it got a whopping zero comments. Really though, you should keep drawing anyway regardless of comments. I draw to please myself, which is why most of the things I draw are really obscure old video game characters that almost nobody gives a crap about. I draw them because I feel like it. Of course criticism and stuff is important too so that's the only real drawback to not getting comments.
