Click products aren't free, and Java and C++ are probably the pinnacle of not easy, so I say try your luck with GameMaker.

I say get Game Maker.
Why?
+it's free
+it's easy to get started if you use tutorials
+once you made enough tutorials make a first game without trying to make the bestest game ever, best choice is a platformer
+learn GML to expand your possibilities
+pay 15€/20$ to get access to full flexibility including 3D graphics (not gameplay, sry, but if your skills are high enough you can take a shot on it, it's possible) and you can also sell your games made with this registered version as long as you don't break copyright laws.

At least that's how I did it, and check AME to see what it made out of me.

You can also get the RPG Maker, which is limited to RPGs, but easy as hell to use.

I don't know how easy others are, but you are looking for free ones and therefore those two are the only ones I can suggest.
