You use your thumb to press the Space Bar and your other hand for the Shift and Ctrl keys. --------------------

If you do, then mask the Y key with the Z key, because German keyboards have them changed. 2) I suggest arrows for movement + jumping and stuff, plus three action keys like SDF or ASD. Maybe more action keys but at least 3. 3) I'm already making a SSB game, and I can tell you if you're not skilled enough you better let your fingers of it.
