Scaredom Of Video Game Characters?

When you were little. I used to be scared of some video game characters when I was little. I would shut the game off and scream at the top of my lungs when I got to the purple dragons in Skyblazer (SNES). What video game characters did you used to be scared of?

EDIT: Is scaredom even a word?

That Freddy on the title screen scared the **** out of me.

The sadest thing of all is, it was Mario. (I didn't like how my game always crashed)

Yet I wasn't afraid of Sonic, so I've been a Sonic fan since I was a baby. =/ (I LOVED AoSTH when I was four-five, and I still do)

But I began liking Mario when I was five, now I like both eqaully, but Mario has been having better games lately so..


AND I was scared of redeads, I still hate them, if only if they didn't hump Link to death..

No video game has really scared me in any way, to be honest. There's a few things that shock me every now and then, but nothing that I would hide from.

However, I was scared when my Sega Saturn switched itself on during the night... if that counts

Oddly enough I remember playing games like DOOM and Zombie Ate My Neighbors at that time and I wasn't scared

Oh yeah, that old Macintosh Plus game "The colony" gave me the creeps.

The toxic headcrabs from Half-Life 2. I freakin' hate those things, especially the horrible noises they make when they're leaping at you...

A much older one would be in the TMNT game on the NES, where you were swimming underwater to disarm bombs. If you ran out of time, the music would start to speed up and then the screen would flash purple. That always scared me for some reason, as well as plants that would drain your health if you went near them.

This is going to sound stupid, but when I was five I had a Barbie game for NES and I never got past the second level. Not because I couldn't beat it, mind you, but because if I did beat the first level I shut the game off. The second level was underwater and you were Mermaid Barbie, and it was a pretty easy level except that if you backtracked at all, these big jellyfish would start floating towards you from where you just came from and the music would change to this loud version of the Jaws theme. The jellyfish could float through the walls, too, so they could get you pretty easily. Scared the CRAP out of me.

Oh and the first time I played The Dig, I was initially afraid to walk out on the light platforms because I through Boston would fall through and die. I didn't know you couldn't die in Lucasarts adventures, and I had only ever seen Sierra games before then, and in Sierra games, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING can kill you so I figured that was the case with The Dig. XD
