Hi... Im making a RPG... and I have encountered a problem!
I have made a turn-based battle engine which is on a seperate frame than the top view world. When you walk around in tall grass you encounter monsters. At the moment I only have one monster. But what do you do if you want to make is so your character walks in the grass in one place and after the battle he stand at the same place? The other problem is: How do you save values like experience, level, items, damage, defence, etc.? that is pretty much it. I would be really REALLY greatfull if I got an "easy to understand" answer or example :-)

If you can't get INI files to work for whatever reason, another way is to use global values intstead.

One global value could be set to the X position of the character just before you leave the level, and another could be set to the Y position. Then, once you've fought, you simply have a command that makes the character appear at the values of the two global values.

It's a stupid method, but it should work.

You should always use a global value to store the positions of everything in your application. Then, if you move to another frame, everything should be the same when you return.

What about for when you turn the game off and turn it back on?

*need to know this for when I get started on the RFLegends RPG*

That's when you use an INI file.

Or heck, you could use the file object and create your own file for saving it.

Store it in a Blowfish array.
