Windows dowloaded Spy-Sheriff to help me but once it finished scanning it asked me to purchase some license code so I could actually delete the spyware. Virus maybe?

Use soemthing like Avast or AVG Free

Yeah I had this same problem a few weeks ago

However I didn't take the System Restore option and ended up wasting 6 hours of my Sunday getting rid of it.
