So yes, the above is good.
BUT if you find the tape recorder, Hide it in your parents bedroom and tell them youve hid it in there, that will show em. (Infact, say youve found it or if you do-
Dont put it in their bedroom, keep it with you)

They're his legal guardians so they can pretty much do stuff like this. And they're not physically harming him or anything like that. If child protection services responded to stuff like this I'd sure we'd see parents being sued for grounding kids

Let's face it they're not going to say "Darn, he broke the recorder, that's us beaten"
