So, I tryed to start Battlefield1942 a bit ago, and i got an error saying that "It had an error and needed to close." Then, I opened dxdiag to try to fix that, and it crashed also. They both crashed on the module "dinput8.dll".

So, can anyone help me find a way to fix it?

Looks like that's the DLL associated with DirectInput. Are you using a joystick or any other kind of device like that?
You could always try downloading another version of the DLL incase something is just wrong with it.

There's a joystick plugged in, but I'm not using it with the game or anything. I guess I'll try unplugging it.

Search Google for the dll, you have to include the ".dll" extension. Beware what you download, though. Always check for viruses.

You could try reinstalling directX / different directX version.

I already upgraded to the Dec2005 version. Oh, and I forgot to add that that game and dxdiag worked before, and just suddenly started yesterday.

You might want to try the following:

1) Reinstall DirectX from this website (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx) and make sure all USB devices are unplugged during the installation and reboot. Test out DXDiag and your games before plugging any devices back in.

2) If there's still no progress, disable gameports in your Device Manager and then try your programs.

3) Failing that, go to your BIOS setup screen and disable the gameports from there. Then proceed to test out your programs.

Tryed the first, didn't work. The other two don't apply to me, since it's a USB joystick. Oh, and I uploaded the crash log if that helps

USB devices can also cause problems with DirectX, so try to disable those during your installation and reboot.

And that crash log is completely empty.

Yes, you could just copy and paste it perhaps.

Don't worry, I fixed it myself. All, I had to do was clear the prefetch first, then install DirectX in safe mode.

Lock this plz.

EDIT: Seems it was some motorola Mobile IM thing. So I unplugged it. BTW, still lock this plz
