Game Over - Nintendo Metal, Power metal, that is.

Now, If a mod/admin would be so kind as to Clean this topic up a bit, i would like to have a good serious discussion on Some Great Heavy metal Redos of some great game songs.

Stop getting so angry. All we're trying to tell you is that game music is copyrighted, and you counter our points with admittedly made up percentages and then tell us to Google it to find answers (which I did, and couldn't find an article saying most video game music wasn't copyrighted).

Chill out for a second and realize nobody here is trying to flame you or make you angry, unlike what you just did to SP. We're just questioning the legal-ness of this project, which despite everything you've said, is still very much debateable.

As for the songs themselves, I'll prolly listen to them in a bit because I'm a fan of rock/metal and video game + metal is usually awesome.

I Greatly appologize, though i have had a LONG running problem with SP(he just pushes my buttons, theres someone out there like this to everyone, and it happens to be SP for me.)...

And I guess it should be a little warning thingy that i DO have an emotional stress disorder, so it causes some strange mood swings...(i've cryed over an eraser)

and i just hate it when people cry over something that really dosen't matter, 23%(ya happy?) of the songs are Original, i couldn't pick out the themes at the beggining but eventually i could(mainly Cataclymic clash)

That and yes, i did get in contact with them, i simply sent them an email, and asked if it was legal for what they are doing, They responded with

"Actually we Checked with the companys and they said as long as it's rather different from the original it's fine, so we sent a sample and they said it's ok, and For the Heavy mario specifically nintendo said it was allright even though it was the same theme. Hope that answers your question, and i hope you buy one of our CD's."

Thats the exact response... Now My friend sent me a link to a site(as suspicious as this sounds it's true.) About some cases involving games using other games music, Because it's Open to anything, as the games music wasn't copyrighted, there were about 10-20 cases. i will try to get that link off him Tommarow or the day after and post it here for you guys to read.

I wasn't crying. Nor was it over something that didn't matter to me. I've been looking into becoming part of the industry for quite some time and I know I'd be pissed if someone took my work and made money off of it. It's just the principle of the thing, you understand? And nothing in this topic was directed at YOU. As for that "out of your ass" comment, I do apologize. But I meant no offense by it.

So anyways, I'll check this out sometime, another good rock band that does videogame covers are the Minibosses. They did a pretty sweet cover of the Metroid theme/Kraid's Lair. Admittedly though that's the only cover they did that I actually liked.

I totally understand what your saying, And I greatly appologise for what i have directed at you, it's hard to explain This thing i have, Think, Basically anything that could be possibly directed at you, makes you feel nervous/offended/worried. I can barely watch aquard situations on TV.

Anyways, this music rocks absolutely. I was doubting the legal procedures of selling at first, but according to e-mails, it seems to be legal.

Geez, if that be the case, I should make some remixes and sell them.
