Been reading about this ....

The boycott of imported Danish goods in Muslim countries and by Muslims in other countrues has actually caused a number of companies to face bankruptcy. The Lego company is hurting pretty bad as a result of it, too.

I'm not entirely sure what to think... it was idiotic for those newspapers to publish the comic, but I don't feel that so many unrelated businesses should suffer as a result of it.

Those dang vikings and their danishes. Danishes are yummy.

Who knows, they could hit a country in Europe that is totally innocent of any wrong - doing, just to annoy everyone and freak us out, leading to a lot of crap.

While I don't think they should have published such cartoons in the first place (they were in very poor taste, in my opinion), they may be over-reacting slightly with ****ing death threats...

I don't know if you're using "Islams" to be ironic, but we're pretty much universally referred to as Muslims.

It seems more and more to me that Muslims have the mentality of ****ing kindergarteners.

they need to calm the **** down, they're only further pushing on the stereotypes and making muslims everywhere look violent and causing more oppression/nontolerance of their own people.

They're angry at the Norwegian and Danish governments for not censoring the cartoons, which they assume indicates that the two respective governments approve of them. They don't understand that one of the basic concepts of democracy is that the government can't censor art it doesn't agree with.

Thing is, all of this is probably not caused solely by the caricatures.

Denmark has troops in Iraq, and militant Muslims have pretty much looked everywhere for reasons to oppose Denmark.

All this over a cartoon. Wow. Muslims need to learn how to take a joke.

They were ****ty cartoons anyway. But governments can't and shouldn't be able to censor them. Those extremists kinda got angry at the wrong people :/

I'd say the newspapers that printed the cartoons were.. ill-advised.

Those extremists just need to shut their ****ing mouths & mind their own business. Danish business is the business of the Danish. Someone needs to slap those extremists.

I found the UN thing amusing. The YTMND to which Luigifan12 linked mentioned something about the UN considering making laws that oppose free speech. If those pass, I'll laugh, because, as always, the US doesn't really listen to the UN, & in this case will make that fact blatantly obvious.

Of course, there is the chance the Us would ***** out & give in, which would lead to all sorts of trouble...
