besides disabling shading is there any other way to crap this down for me?... (options menu)

try changing to bilinear filtering, turning on texture compression, lower resolution, shutting off anisotropic filtering, etc

Download complete, but ever since it's slowed down my computer (it took about 5 minutes to reply and ever since the download completed all of my running windows were acting unresponsive)

And when I try to run the installer not only does it not go past 25 out of 29 of whatever it has to install, it slows down my computer at that too.
